Mark, alert, acknowledge. Without a screen. Without a voice.
A pocket-sized tactile button that fires a CoT event into ATAK, sends an alert to your TOC, or steps a radio preset, on a single deliberate push. Operators keep eyes on, hands on weapon, and discipline on the radio. The same hardware has been deployed in safety-critical B2B for more than ten years.
No screen. No voice. No fumbling.
When seconds matter, the EUD is the wrong place to look.
Without a tactile trigger
- A lit screen at night betrays position
- Voice keys cut under contact and break radio discipline
- Menus and submenus do not survive a gloved hand
- Wrist devices fail with weapons up
With a Flic on the kit
- Silent, deterministic, sub-second
- Single push, gloved or blind, weapons up
- Matte-black low-profile, sleeve protected
- Three-year battery, no charging cycle on rotation
What a push does
Drop your position on the map
Single push emits a CoT self-position event onto the local TAK channel. Every operator on the net and the TOC sees the pin within seconds. No menu, no map drag, no screen wake.
Mark a hostile or PoI
Double-push drops a hostile or point-of-interest marker at the operator location. Use for IED, observed contact, evac LZ. With Flic Duo, dedicate the second button to a different marker type.
Silent SOS or man-down
Long-hold fires a CoT emergency event plus an MQTT alert to your TOC dashboard. Stealth panic when voice is not an option. Flic Duo also supports a deliberate two-button SOS that travels with real-time location.
Casualty alert on a fall
Flic Duo with the Fall Detection Evaluation Kit auto-emits a CoT casualty marker on a detected fall, with last-known position. No operator action required. Medic and JTAC use cases first.
Fire a brevity code
Push fires a canned CoT chat or radio message: RTB, Contact, 9-line MEDEVAC initiated, Eyes on. Removes routine chatter from a quiet channel; the radio operator stays on for the things that need voice.
Stealth acknowledge
Silent positive ack of an order, no voice key, no screen wake. Useful on covert insertion and final approach. The single-button Flic Smart Button is the lowest-profile option for this role.
Connects to the stack you already run
CoT into ATAK, iTAK, WinTAK and TAK Server.
Pair the button to the operator EUD (Samsung S20 Tactical, Nett Warrior or any Android or iOS device) or to a Flic Hub Mini at the team's TOC. Pushes become Cursor on Target events, either through a small ATAK plugin or by injecting CoT XML onto the local TAK bus. TAK Server, FreeTAKServer, MeshTAK and TAKX all see the same events.
- verified CoT XML and Protobuf (TAK Protocol v1)
- verified ATAK plugin pattern (reference: meshtastic-atak-plugin, Akita MeshTAK)
- verified Direct CoT injection over local UDP
- verified TLS streaming to TAK Server or FreeTAKServer
- verified Same plugin handles both SKUs
FirstNet PTT, SitaWare, Silvus, MQTT, your SDK.
Outside TAK, Flic speaks the open protocols soldier-system and first-responder platforms already expose: FirstNet Enhanced Push-to-Talk Web API, Systematic SitaWare Frontline / Edge open architecture, Silvus StreamCaster HTTP API for radio control, any MQTT broker, any HTTP webhook. Wired PTT pucks sell for under fifty dollars and lock you to one radio. Flic is one BOM across all of them.
- verified FirstNet EPTT Web and Deep-Link APIs
- verified SitaWare Frontline / Edge open architecture
- verified Silvus StreamCaster HTTP API
- verified MQTT broker, HTTP webhook, mobile SDK
- verified Bittium Tough SDR via ATAK plugin layer
- verified Persistent Systems Wave Relay MPU5 (Android, runs ATAK)
How it gets to the map
A push on the kit. A pin on every screen.
-
1
Operator pushes.
On a Flic clipped to a vest, a chest rig, a hand strap, or a MOLLE loop. Push, double-push, hold, hold-and-twist, or, on Flic Duo, a detected fall.
-
2
The EUD or hub turns it into CoT.
Either the EUD running an ATAK plugin, or a Flic Hub Mini paired with the button over Bluetooth Long Range. The push becomes a Cursor on Target event with the right type, point, and contact.
-
3
TAK fans it out.
TAK Server (or FreeTAKServer) propagates the event to every operator on the channel and to the TOC dashboard. Sub-second on a healthy mesh.
A decade of safety-critical B2B behind it
Not a prototype. A platform with a million units in the field.
Flic has been shipping the same tactile platform since 2014. Lone-worker safety providers route alarms through it. Alarm Receiving Centres rely on it for monitored response. Hospitality, retail, healthcare, and logistics operators run it on a daily basis. The defense use case is new; the hardware, the radio link, the cloud, and the SDK are not.
- verified Shipping the same platform since 2014
- verified Over a million units deployed across 100+ countries
- verified Deployed by Securitas, EcoOnline, WorkSafe Guardian, ProSafe, Multibel, F24
- verified Open API stable for 10+ years; same SDK that civilian integrators ship today
For integrators and primes
Your enclosure, your branding, our BOM.
Defense integrators bundle Flic into soldier-system pilots as a no-look CoT input device. Designed in Stockholm; Flic Smart Button manufactured in Taiwan, Flic Duo in Malaysia. Outside ITAR scope, with a Section 889 clean BOM (no Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Hikvision, Dahua silicon). Custom-printed face for branded fleets, silicone weather sleeve, and a clip / lanyard / pocket accessory set. Available in matte black or white.
- verified Designed in Stockholm; manufactured in Taiwan (Flic) and Malaysia (Flic Duo)
- verified Outside ITAR scope
- verified Section 889 clean BOM (no banned Chinese telecom silicon)
- verified CE Marked, FCC, RoHS, WEEE, UN38.3
- verified OEM-printed face, white-label dispatch app, open SDK
- verified 100-unit evaluation kits in two weeks; mixed Flic and Duo on request
Pick your device
Both devices ship today. Same TAK plugin, same hub, same SDK. Pick the smaller single-button trigger or the two-button device with motion gestures.
The smallest, most-shipped tactile trigger we make.
A 27 mm coin with one button and three triggers (push, double-push, hold). Over a million units deployed since 2014. Lightest profile on a chest rig or a MOLLE patch, custom-printable face, three-year CR2032 battery. The default choice when you want one button on one operator and you want it to disappear into the kit.
- verified One button, three triggers (push, double-push, hold)
- verified 27 mm coin, very low profile, custom-printable face
- verified Three-year battery (CR2032), 50 m Bluetooth Long Range
- verified Available in matte black or white
- verified Shipping since 2014, over a million units deployed
Two buttons, motion gestures, optional fall detection.
Two physical buttons on a pocket-sized shell. Six distinct triggers including hold-and-twist and hold-and-swipe. Motion-aware via accelerometer. Native sub-second SOS with location. Fall detection ships with the Evaluation Kit; the device itself is available now. The right pick when one operator needs two distinct actions or when accelerometer-driven events (fall, motion) are on the use-case list.
- verified Two buttons, six distinct triggers
- verified Motion-aware accelerometer, native SOS with real-time location
- verified Fall Detection Evaluation Kit (open to ARCs and lone-worker platforms)
- verified Three-year battery (CR2032), 50 m Bluetooth Long Range
- verified Clip, lanyard holder, silicone weather sleeve, custom printing
- verified Available now in matte black or white
