A voice button for your field AI agent.

Push-to-talk hardware for the field. Inspectors, technicians, utility crews, facility teams. Your AI agent gets a real button, a real mic, and a structured voice stream. Built on the Flic platform: over a million units shipped since 2014.

always-on listening
The field problem

Phones lose to gloves, ladders, and noise.

Without Flic Mic

  • Unlock, open app, find a button
  • Wake words fail in noise
  • Always-on listening, always a risk

With Flic Mic

  • Push and talk
  • Mic at mouth distance
  • Off until pushed
In the field

What a worker pushes the mic for.

How it works

Push, talk, release

A push on the button. A structured event in your stack.

  1. 1

    Worker pushes and talks.

Clipped to a vest, lanyard, or harness. The mic activates on push, stops on release. No wake word, no false triggers.

  2. 2

Audio + event leave the device.

Over Bluetooth Long Range to a paired phone or a Flic Hub Mini. Push event and audio stream both reach your backend.

  3. 3

    Your AI handles the rest.

Transcribe, structure, file, dispatch. Plug into Whisper, Realtime, Deepgram, AssemblyAI, or your own model. Webhook, MQTT, HTTP, or SDK.

For AI integrators

You ship the agent. We ship the hardware.

Same open API the Flic platform has shipped since 2014. Pair over BLE to your app on a phone, or to a Flic Hub Mini for headless deployment. Pushes become structured events; audio streams to your backend. No custom radio stack, no button to source.

  • verified Mobile SDK (iOS and Android)
  • verified Webhook, MQTT, HTTP, and SDK on the Flic Hub Mini
  • verified Works with OpenAI Realtime, Whisper, Deepgram, AssemblyAI, ElevenLabs, or your own
  • verified BLE Long Range, three-year coin-cell battery, custom OEM printing
  • verified White-label dispatch app, or bring your own front-end via SDK

Privacy is a hardware boundary, not a checkbox

No always-on listening

The mic is dead until the worker pushes the button.

Flic Mic captures audio only while the button is held. No wake-word training, no background recording, no ambient processing. The mic is off because the button is up. Provable in a one-line spec. That is the difference between a smart-home assistant and a tool a field professional will actually wear.

  • verified Push-to-talk only. Hardware boundary on the microphone
  • verified No wake word, no background processing on the device
  • verified Audio leaves only after the push, ends on release
  • verified Your backend handles retention and AI policy. We do not process voice
  • verified GDPR-ready by design; works inside your own data-residency rules
